Building Awareness, Strengthening Our Community
Domestic violence can happen behind closed doors, and abuse doesn't always look the way we expect. Understanding the signs, knowing where to turn for support, and learning how to help someone experiencing abuse are important steps toward building safer communities.
Events like this resource fair create space for those conversations. Attendees can connect with local resources, learn about support and advocacy programs, and explore information about healthy relationships and violence prevention.
Whether you're looking to learn something new, connect with local organizations, or better understand how to support someone who may be experiencing abuse, there is value in showing up.
Why Community Matters
We know that raising awareness is about more than sharing information. It's about helping people recognize the signs of abuse, encouraging conversations that can be difficult to start, and making sure people know that support is available.
Holly's story is a deeply personal reminder of why this work matters. She was a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a young woman who was deeply loved. She was just 26 years old when she was murdered by her boyfriend in 2017.
She should still be here.
We continue to share Holly's story because we want her to be remembered for the life she lived, not only the way it ended. While we cannot change what happened to Holly, we can continue to learn, speak up, and help others understand the realities of domestic violence.
Awareness, education, and community support all have a role to play in creating a future where fewer people experience abuse and violence. Community events like this one help keep these conversations going and connect people with resources that can make a meaningful difference.
